US Weekly reports that Zac Efron and Lily Collins have officially split, with sources claiming the star's "casual thing" has "fizzled."
So what went wrong? According to a source: "Zac was never very serious about her."
You would be forgiven for not knowing that the couple were dating in the frist place, as although Zac and Lily sparked rumors of a budding romance after being spotted a few times on the town, the hype around the "couple" never really took off.
And apparently neither did the actual relationship. The source continued: "They were never really together, so you could say they split, but they were never an official couple. They hung out a bit, but it was super casual."
"They became friends after being introduced by mutual pals," the source continues. "But the chemistry wasn't there. I can't even remember the last time they saw one another...it's been such a long time. So it never ended, because it never really started."
Meanwhile, Zac had been busy celebrating his nation's Independence all over Europe, and after a 4th of July boat ride in St. Tropez, it appears the actor made his way to Monte Carlo, where he reclined in the arms of model Alexandra Storm while at the Café de Paris!
